Alba Steinlein and Javi Molina
from Valencia (Spain)
We are very happy to have this two wonderful dancers in our house sharing their passion and joy! It is hard to put in words how much those two have done and are doing for the swing dance community! Thank you for being such heartfelt humans. The connection to the spirit and the roots of this dance combined with full passion everyday makes these two an unique part of the Lindy Hop of today. In their school "Spirit of St. Louis" living history is happening everyday. If you ever have the chance to join an event or some days in their school in Valencia we warmly recommend you to go there dancing.

Alba is from Donosti, and although she started dancing other disciplines, she had her first contact with Lindy Hop almost 10 years ago. She shares her ideas and her energy at Spirit Valencia. She is also a historian so she loves to search through books, records and videos. She has admiration and respect for the great dancers of the Swing Era, like the Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers, Marie Bryant or Dorothy Dandridge, and she loves Cab Calloway, both as a musician and as a dancer.
Javi created the Spirit Valencia Swing Project almost 20 years ago and is one of those responsible for the Lindy Hop community in Spain. Since then, he has dedicated all his time to learning about and transmitting the roots and values of this culture. He started out dancing Acrobatic Rock and performing on national tours, so he loves aerials. He gets excited every time he sees Whitey's Lindy Hoppers in Hellzapoppin, it's a huge dose of inspiration and energy.
Judith Novela
from Maputo (Mozambique)
Judith Novela is a dancer at the hodi maputo afro swing association and a teacher of traditional dance and afro swing. She participated in 3 editions of the herrang dance camp and in several contemporary dance workshops, with the choreographers Idio chichava, Horácio macuacua, Didier boutiana. She has traveled the world teaching Mozambican culture through her enchanting dance. She brings to the public the sensuality and beauty of Mozambican dances and the first step of her beautiful dance which is "O Sorriso"smile. She is currently working on her project entitled "wansat wa n'tamo" "strong woman".
Isabel Jiménez
from Albacete (Spain)
Isabel is from Albacete, where she started her Lindy hop career. She created a vivid Lindy hop scene in her hometown, teaching regularly and organizing her own festival, the Shimmy Fest.
Isabel started dancing at a very young age and spent 10 years dancing ballet and 4 years studying dance pedagogy. When she discovered Lindy hop, she found a totally different way of dancing, in which discipline and technique stays in the background and where she can express herself with more freedom and joy.
Isabel considers Lindy Hop as a street dance, that's why the focus of her teaching is mostly on the very social part of the dance, respecting every person's way of expressing her-/himself. To her, Frankie Manning is a huge inspiration, and she aims to spread his spirit and love for this dance in the best way she can.

Team Lindy Hop Saarbrücken
Our Swing inspiration comes straight out of the Spirit Moves (documentary of black social dance by Mura Dehn), famous clips and the stories of old-timers. These stories reflect, what swing nights felt like, when they were danced back in the days.
We mostly are interested in dancing and teaching the Swing that was born in Harlem New York. For us this kind of dance is an intimate connection between dancers, based on improvisation and using the body to express the rawness of jazz music, as well as the feeling of the moment. Our classes are fun and liberating, aiming to get students inspired and motivated to create and exchange, as they explore the music and themselves!

Les Dudes
(Canada)
„Les Dudes“ from Canada are a couple in life and in art. They draw little dramas from their own everyday lives, which they transform into an original play with a lot of love and humour.
They make use of the whole range of circus action and create absurd situations and moments full of poetry with acrobatics, juggling, rhönrad, hula hoop and magic.
They deliberately break down genre boundaries and gender roles. Full of comedy that is immediately accessible even to small children, their scenery develops a lot of depth.
