General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for the Dance School Lindy Hop Saarbrücken GbR
The Velo Swing Festival is organized by Lindy Hop Saarbrücken in cooperation with the Regional Association of Saarbrücken.
1. Subject of the Contract
These General Terms and Conditions apply between Lindy Hop Saarbrücken GbR (hereinafter referred to as "Lindy Hop Saarbrücken") and its training participants in weekly courses, workshops/festivals, exchanges, and events.
2. Training at Lindy Hop Saarbrücken
The courses, workshops, festivals, events, and exchanges of Lindy Hop Saarbrücken GbR are part of the training to become a Lindy Hop dancer, Lindy Hop show dancer, or Lindy Hop dance instructor.
3. Conclusion of the Contract
The contract is concluded only upon confirmation of registration by Lindy Hop Saarbrücken.
4. Payment Terms
Payment must be made within 5 days after receiving the confirmation email or successful registration for the courses. If the payment is not made by this deadline, the general obligation to pay remains valid. Registration for the courses must be made in writing or electronically via the dance school’s registration form.
5. Non-Attendance / Refund Policy
In the case of cancellation or non-attendance of booked courses or workshops, Lindy Hop Saarbrücken will attempt to resell the tickets. However, Lindy Hop Saarbrücken reserves the right to retain the amount paid if resale is not possible. Especially in the case of short-notice cancellations (up to 6 weeks before the course/workshop start), resale cannot be guaranteed. If resale is successful, a 20% processing fee will be charged, and the remaining amount will be refunded in the form of a voucher.
Participants are free to prove that Lindy Hop Saarbrücken has incurred less damage. The booked pass can also be transferred to another person at any time free of charge.
6. Force Majeure
Due to unforeseen external circumstances (e.g. pandemics), it may be necessary for Lindy Hop Saarbrücken to assign fixed dance partners to participants and prevent partner changes.
Depending on the current situation, partner Lindy Hop classes may need to be held as solo dance classes.
Alternatively, depending on the situation, they may be held online as Solo Jazz classes or, for those bringing a fixed partner, as online partner dance classes.
Lindy Hop Saarbrücken commits to responding appropriately to such situations and to seek solutions that come as close as possible to the original concept.
It may also be necessary to move outdoor events indoors due to weather changes. Lindy Hop Saarbrücken reserves the right to make such changes and will publish them on the website as promptly as possible.
7. Safe Environment
We believe in creating an environment where people in the swing dance community can learn, dance, grow, and feel safe. Discrimination or harassment based on gender, national origin, ethnicity, religion, race, sexual orientation, or disability will not be tolerated. Participants and organizers commit to jointly ensuring that dance spaces and event venues are safe and welcoming for everyone.
8. Additional General Information
Participation in courses and events is at the participant’s own risk. Lindy Hop Saarbrücken GbR is not liable for theft. If the organizer is prevented from carrying out the event in full or in part due to force majeure, for the protection of the participants, third parties, or staff, or is officially ordered to cancel or change the format of the event, no claims for compensation can be made against the organizer.
9. Behavior at the Venue
Smoking is not permitted at the event. Please wear dance shoes or shoes with clean soles inside the venue.
10. Liability for Injuries and Personal Belongings
By participating, the participant agrees that the organizer or its representatives and agents are not liable for any damage or injury of any kind that occurs or may occur during the event. This does not apply if the damage is due to intentional or grossly negligent conduct by the organizer or its representatives. These limitations also extend to the personal liability of employees, representatives, agents, and third parties involved in the event’s execution or contractually associated for this purpose.
11. Program Changes
Lindy Hop Saarbrücken GbR and the venue reserve the right to make reasonable changes to the published program (class times, bands, venues). Lindy Hop Saarbrücken GbR accepts no responsibility for the absence of band members due to illness or other reasons. We recommend regularly checking our website, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
12. Severability Clause
Should individual provisions of these General Terms and Conditions or the liability disclaimer be or become invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
